Brothers Martin and Jan have been finding a deep fascination with the natural world since their early childhood. In their work they put together their fine appreciation of nature along with their art skills and photographs so as to celebrate the beauty of landscape and living creatures in their natural habitats. Martin is an artist, wildlife photographer and biologist. He was trained and educated as a scientist in biology in Slovakia, former Czechoslovakia. At the age of 22 he was awarded by a silver medal for his painting of golden eagle exhibited in Eilat, Israel. After receiving his M.Sc. in biology he started work as an ornithologist. He has been involved in field research projects on eagles, hawks, owls, waterbirds, shorebirds and bats. Many conservation activities have also been part of his work. Since 1992 Martin studied birds in North America and was involved in research projects at McGill University, Raptor Research Centre, Quebec, and at Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick. He has travelled all over Western Europe and Canada to study and photograph birds and other wildlife. Inspired by pristine beauty of places and living creatures he meets on his trips Martin does not mind going behind the science. With his brushes and paints he creates art pieces both outdoors and in his studio. His artwork reflects his passion for details and the harmony he experiences and feels from nature. Martin's illustrations of birds have decorated conference rooms, research centers, museums, castles and private collections in United States, Canada, England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel and South Africa. His illustrations of birds have appeared in regional magazines and books. In 2014 brothers Jan and Martin have written, illustrated and published the book "Algonquin Park A Portrait: The landscape, wildlife and ecology of an iconic Canadian treasure". Martin is married, he and his wife have two children. |

Jan is an artist, photographer and field naturalist. He attended the art school at a young age and graduated from agricultural school in former Czechoslovakia. In 1991 he was recognized the best young European wildlige artist by the Society of Wildlife Artists in Lavenham, UK. As an ornithologist and field naturalist Jan participated at different field research projects on birds of prey, owls, shorebirds and bats in Slovakia and in Canada. He travelled to study and photograph birds, as well as to seek for his subject matter to paint all over Canada and Europe. Jan's originals and prints has decorated conference rooms, research centers, museums, castles, and private collections in many countries including United States, Canada, England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel and South Africa. His illustrations of birds have appeared in regional magazines and books. In 2014 brothers Jan and Martin have written, illustrated and published the book "Algonquin Park A Portrait: The landscape, wildlife and ecology of an iconic Canadian treasure". As an artist Jan strives to capture the beauty of forest and other types of landscapes, and the beauty of birds and animals in their natural habitats as he knows it from outdoors in realistic way that appeals him the most. Jan's art technique, style and the knowledge of the subject has been highly credited by renowned wildlife artists and experts. |
